Bird report: Red Sea september 2015.
I organized the trip to the southern Red Sea in september with the aim of seeing some target species, lifers for me, such as sooty falcon, white cheeked and bridled tern and crab plover (Western paleartic lifer, already seen in Kenya).
Fortunately targets have been achieved and with them I saw several other interesting species. Having already been on the Red Sea in 2013 I had already observed some of these species but the list of lifers has still elongated with mangrove olivaceous warbler, cretzshmar's bunting, lesser crested tern (WP lifer) desert wheatear, white crowned wheatear, desert lark and sand partridge.
Finally, the most interesting observation I think it was undoubtedly the white-tailed plover, species which I dreamed and very difficult to see in the Western Palearctic but that is regular winter visitor on the Red Sea.

Ho organizzato il viaggio sul Mar Rosso meridionale a settembre con l'intento di vedere alcune specie target, che per me rappresentavano un lifer, come falco unicolore, sterna guancebianche e dalle redini e droma (lifer per il paleartico visto che l'avevo già vista in Kenya).
Fortunatamente i target sono stati centrati e assieme a loro ho visto diverse altre specie interessanti.
Essendo già stato sul Mar Rosso nel 2013 alcune di queste le avevo già osservate ma la lista dei lifers si è comunque allungata con canapino pallido delle mangrovie, ortolano grigio, sterna di Ruppell (lifer WP) monachella del deserto, monachella nera testabianca, allodola del deserto e pernice delle sabbie.
Infine l'osservazione più interessante credo sia stata indubbiamente la pavoncella codabianca, specie da me agognata e molto difficile da vedere nel Paleartico occidentale ma che è svernante regolare sul Mar Rosso.
