My last lifer, the first of this year, it's been a beautiful Baillon's crake seen today at Lago di Porta, Montignoso (MS).

The bird is present from the 26th of March when was found by Niccolò Ghionzoli (16 days of presence).

Il mio ultimo lifer, il primo di quest' anno, è stata una splendida schiribilla grigiata vista oggi al Lago di Porta, Montignoso (MS).

L'uccello è presente dal 26 Marzo quando è stato trovato da Niccolò Ghionzoli (16 giorni di presenza finora).

Being a crepuscular species that is observable mainly in the early morning or in the evening I had to leave very early, at 4 am. After a little more than 3 hours of travel I was on the spot thanks to the instructions of my friend Massimo Marcone. Once I arrived I immediately had a chance to see it thanks to two birder (Rosario Notaro e Andrea Vezzani) already in place that had recently seen it out of the reeds. In about two hours, from 7.15 to 9.15 the Baillon's Crake has left the reeds 5 times giving excellent views.

Essendo una specie crepuscolare che si lascia osservare prevalentemente al mattino presto o alla sera sono dovuto partire molto presto, alle 4.

Dopo poco più di 3 ore di viaggio ero sul posto grazie alle indicazioni dell' amico Massimo Marcone.

Non appena arrivato ho avuto subito la possibilità di vederla grazie a due birder già presenti sul posto (Rosario Notaro e Andrea Vezzani) che l'avevano da poco vista uscire dal canneto.

In circa due ore, dalle 7.15 alle 9.15 la Schiribilla Grigiata è uscita dal canneto 5 volte facendosi osservare molto bene.
