Rarity: Eastern Imperial Eagle in the Po Delta.

The day December 18, 2016 was observed and photographed by Atos Pastorini an imperial eagle (aquila heliaca) at Ca' Pisani in the Rovigo province part of the Po Delta. Ten days have passed before the eagle was seen again (from several birder).
After several days of flu and fever, and due to work commitments I was able to go there only on 30th December. Upon arriving the eagle immediately shown itself in all its splendor passing in flight and going to lay nearby.
The eagle, juvenile, seems to be often at a wooded floodplain area of the Maistra Po where there is a roost of thousands of great and pygmy cormorants together with various Ardeidae as white and grey heron and white and cattle egret. Along with several birder, photographers and curious we observed till sunset.
Shortly before dark I went to look for the three long-tailed ducks observed in recent days in the nearby Valley Scannarello finding two of them.
As it regards the imperial eagle is my second observation absolute and Italian, the first in the province of Rovigo and in the Delta.
As for the African girls codon are my first observation in the province of Rovigo
Il giorno 18 dicembre 2016 è stata osservata e fotografata da Atos Pastorini un aquila imperiale (aquila heliaca) presso Ca' Pisani, Parco del Delta del Po(RO). Sono passati dieci giorni prima che l'aquila venisse vista di nuovo (da diversi birder).
Dopo alcuni giorni di influenza e febbre e a causa di impegni lavorativi sono riuscito ad andare a cercarla solo il giorno 30. Appena arrivato l'aquila si è subito mostrata in tutto il suo splendore passando in volo ed andandosi a posare poco lontano.
L'aquila, un individuo giovane, sembra frequentare con costanza un area di golena alberata del Po di Maistra dove è presente un roost di migliaia di cormorani e marangoni minori oltre a vari ardeidi come airone bianco, cenerino, garzetta e guardabuoi. Insieme a diversi birder fotografi e curiosi l'abbiamo osservata fino al tramonto.
Poco prima che facesse buio sono andato a cercare le 3 morette codone osservate nei giorni scorsi nella vicina Valle Scannarello trovandone 2.
Per quanto riguarda l'aquila imperiale è la mia seconda osservazione assoluta ed italiana, la prima in provincia di Rovigo e nel Delta.
Per quanto riguarda le morette codone sono la mia prima osservazione in provincia di Rovigo.
